The relentless heatwave continues to tighten its grip across Pakistan, with the southern regions of Sindh and Punjab facing particularly extreme weather conditions. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a stark warning of soaring temperatures in these areas, predicting no immediate relief from the sweltering heat.
In Karachi, the weather will remain oppressively hot and dry over the next 24 hours. Today, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 23.5°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach between 38°C and 40°C. High humidity levels, currently at 74 percent, are compounding the discomfort for residents in the city.
Jacobabad in Sindh emerged as the hottest location yesterday, recording a scorching 44°C. Other cities such as Larkana, Lasbela, Mithi, Dadu, and Mirpur Khas reported temperatures as high as 43°C. Karachi reached 41°C, while Lahore was slightly cooler at 38°C.

Temperatures in other regions varied, with Peshawar and Islamabad both experiencing 35°C, Muzaffarabad at 33°C, Quetta a cooler 25°C, and Gilgit at a mild 22°C.
The PMD has strongly advised residents in the affected regions to take protective measures against heat-related health risks. The public is encouraged to stay indoors during peak daylight hours, remain well-hydrated, and avoid direct exposure to the sun.
Meteorological experts warn that the heatwave could intensify further in the coming days, with monitoring efforts underway to assess the evolving situation. Further updates and advisories will be issued if temperatures continue to rise to dangerous levels.
