According to Guinness World Records, a peach cultivated in the US state of Virginia has shattered the global record for weight.
Chiles Peach Orchard in the Crozet area is where the fruit was gathered earlier this month. The previous record of 1.8 pounds was surpassed by its weight of 1.83 pounds, or about 830 grams.
The peach is a member of a particular variety called PF-27A. Guinness World Records verified and certified it as the heaviest peach ever recorded after receiving it.
The orchard’s owner, Henry Chiles, informed a local television station that no conscious effort had been made to cultivate the largest peach in the world. He claimed that this year’s favorable weather conditions were probably the cause of the exceptional size.
