As preparations for Independence Day gain momentum, the Islamabad district administration has announced a citywide ban on the sale and use of bajas (commonly known as vuvuzelas) in an effort to curb public disturbances and ensure order in the capital.
Crackdown on Vendors Begins
To enforce the ban, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has directed all field officers to launch immediate operations targeting stalls selling vuvuzelas. Daily inspections and enforcement measures will continue until August 14.
Authorities have warned that individuals and vendors found violating the ban will face strict legal consequences, including fines and confiscation of goods.
The administration emphasized that the decision was made to ensure a peaceful and safe environment for citizens during the national celebrations.
