WB to Provide All Out Support for Environmental Initiatives
Islamabad: According to news reports, Najy Benhassine, the Country Director for the World Bank (WB), offered full financial and technical assistance for the Prime Minister’s national environmental protection and conservation efforts as well as improvements in Pakistan’s catastrophe resilience.

In a meeting with Malik Amin, the prime minister’s special adviser on climate change, Najy Benhassine reportedly disclosed this.
Leading a delegation, the WB national director expressed the bank’s full support for Pakistan’s post-pandemic green recovery plan, as well as afforestation and environmental conservation activities, with a special emphasis on the Green Stimulus “10 Billion Tree Tsunami” project.
He disclosed that the PKR 120 million in funding for the Green Stimulus initiative announced by the WB has already been authorised.

The gathering emphasised how these funds can assist protect and conserve environment while also promoting green jobs in the event of a coronavirus epidemic.
