WB Sindh to Allocate Plots for 6,500 Displaced Families
Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah informed the World Bank (WB) delegation in a virtual meeting that the provincial government has agreed to award properties to 6,500 individuals displaced by the anti-encroachment drive along Karachi’s drains and waterways.

The chief minister stated that a number of World Bank-supported initiatives are now ongoing in the city. He claimed that Murtaza Wahab has been appointed Administrator of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and will oversee the development of the projects.
During the debate, CM Syed Murad Ali Shah asked the vice president and country director of the World Bank for a development package for Sukkur, Larkana, and Hyderabad.

Representatives of the World Bank resolved to provide a package of aid for the construction of roads, bus stations, a sewage system, a water supply, and other infrastructure.
In addition, the prime minister disclosed that the new four-year partnership with the World Bank will focus on five sectors: economic development, health, education, climate change, and inclusive or participatory growth.
