WhatsApp Will Soon Let You Send High Quality Videos
Since a very long time ago, WhatsApp has allowed us to send high-quality photographs with less compression. You can choose between “high-quality,” “standard,” and “data saver” photo selections.
According to the WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, we will be able to do the same with videos in the near future as well. The iOS 23.13.0.76 beta version of WhatsApp contains this feature. Inside group conversations, this update also features improved profile pictures.
WhatsApp will soon allow you to select between standard quality and HD quality when sending a video. View the screenshot that follows. Since the feature is still in its early beta testing stages, it still says “photos” rather than “videos.”

The HD quality file is 4.9 MB in size, in contrast to the ordinary quality’s 2.2 MB. Contrarily, apps like Telegram even allow you to transfer films in their original quality. However, Telegram’s chats are all saved online, freeing up space on your smartphone.
Nevertheless, WABetaInfo asserts that the HD quality choice significantly increases detail, despite the negligible change in file size. The app won’t retain your selections, so you’ll need to choose the HD quality option each time you share a video.
When you send a video in HD quality, a “HD” badge will appear in the bottom left corner of the video. This should alert viewers that a video’s download size will be a little larger than usual.
Although it is unknown when the function will become available to the general public, since it is already in beta testing, we can be confident that it will happen at some point. We might also have access to more high-quality solutions in the future.
