Karachi, April 13, 2025 — Stargazers across Pakistan are in for a celestial treat as the first full moon of spring, famously known as the Pink Moon, graces the night sky on Sunday, April 13.
While the moon won’t literally appear pink, its name is inspired by the vibrant pink phlox wildflowers that bloom during early spring. This full moon is expected to rise over Karachi at approximately 9:08 p.m. UTC, lighting up the sky throughout the night.

Best Viewing Time: Just After Sunset
The optimal time to view the Pink Moon will be shortly after sunset, when the moon sits low on the horizon. Thanks to a phenomenon known as the moon illusion, it will appear larger and brighter—offering a breathtaking visual experience.
Cultural and Religious Significance
More than just a visual marvel, this full moon is also called the Paschal Moon. It holds deep significance in the Christian calendar, as it determines the timing of Easter Sunday, which falls on April 20 this year.
