Work Continues on 9 Different Sites of Mohmand Dam
The Mohmand Dam’s access tunnel has been finished in order to expedite the excavation of diversion tunnels, and construction is currently underway at nine distinct project locations.

Lt Gen (r) Muzammil Hussain, chairman of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), was briefed on this prior to his visit to the project.
Muhammad Javed Afridi, the director and general manager of the Mohmand Dam Project, Brigadier Imtiaz Hussein, the director general of security, and representatives of the consultants and contractors were also present.
About 18,237 acres of additional land will also be irrigated, in addition to the 160,000 acres of existing land that will be supplemented. The Mohmand Dam Power Plant will produce 800 megawatts (MW) of environmentally benign and reasonably priced hydel power per year, adding 2.86 billion units to the national grid.
One of the major concerns is the development and well-being of the residents of the project area. As a result, a sizeable sum of Rs. 4.53 billion will be spent on confidence-building measures for the project area’s socioeconomic growth.
