Work on To Revive Kaghan Valley Road
With the assistance of a Chinese company working on the Suki Kanari Hydro power project, the National Highway Administration (NHA) has cleared the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad route till it reaches the Pondain Glacier. Hussain Deen, the chairman of the hoteliers association in Kaghan valley, recently told reporters that this strategically significant artery, which connects Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with Gilgit-Baltistan, was closed to all types of traffic following the heavy snowfall in Kaghan valley in November last year.

He stated that the route had been cleared of snow and that Naran, the commercial centre of the Kaghan valley, was only 10 km distant. He hoped that the road could be opened to traffic within the next two weeks.
The government has established standard operating procedures that must be scrupulously followed by hoteliers and other corporate entities in order to prevent the spread of new coronavirus, according to Hussain Deen.

Local resident Ali Asghar claimed that as soon as the road is opened to traffic, the thousands of families who had relocated to the lower regions of the Hazara division as a result of the snowfall last year will begin returning to their abandoned homes in the Kaghan valley.
