After many years, Lahore is preparing to celebrate one of its most cherished festivals, Basant, and Yango Pakistan is joining in to spread the festive spirit across the city.

From February 6 to 8, 2026, Yango Pakistan will offer free rickshaw rides and deliveries to Lahoris, making it easier and safer for people to move around during the celebrations. The initiative aligns with the Punjab government’s efforts to promote public safety and wellbeing during the festival.

For three lively days, Yango-branded rickshaws will be visible across Lahore’s streets and public parks. These rickshaws will provide free rides and courier services through the Yango Super App, helping families, friends, and kite flyers enjoy Basant with greater convenience and safety.

Each ride and rickshaw delivery will be subsidized by up to PKR 200, allowing nearly 80,000 free trips across the city. Beyond transportation, the colorful rickshaws are meant to evoke nostalgia and reflect the joyful spirit that Basant holds for Lahoris.

To further support safety during the festival, Yango Pakistan will distribute 5,000 safety rods to its partner motorcycle drivers in Lahore. The company has also announced that partner drivers who choose not to work during Basant will not face any penalties or deductions, reinforcing Yango’s focus on driver safety.

In addition, Yango Pakistan has produced 3,000 branded kites, which customers in Lahore will have a chance to win on their cargo, bike, rickshaw, or car courier orders placed through Yango Delivery, starting four days before Basant.

Commenting on the initiative, Miral Sharif, Country Head of Yango Pakistan, said that Basant holds deep emotional value for the people of Lahore and represents unity and shared tradition across all walks of life. She explained that the free rides and deliveries are meant to help people connect and celebrate together while ensuring safer mobility across the city.

She also urged citizens to celebrate responsibly and remain mindful of the safety of their families, friends, and fellow commuters during the festivities.

Yango Pakistan said the initiative reflects its broader people-first and locally focused approach, aiming to provide safe, reliable, and affordable services—especially during cultural moments that matter most to the communities it serves.
