Controversial Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt has performed Umrah and released an emotional video from Masjid al-Haram, seeking forgiveness and clarifying his position on the ongoing backlash surrounding his recent content.

Wearing the sacred garments of Ihram and standing in the Mataf—the area surrounding the Holy Kaaba—Rajab Butt addressed his followers and critics directly via social media. He opened his heartfelt message with recitations of Durood and the Islamic declaration of faith (Kalma), publicly affirming that everything he owns—including his wealth, life, family, and even his blood—is devoted to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Amid a wave of criticism on social media and legal scrutiny back home, Butt used the sanctity of the holy site to declare that he never acted with malicious intent. “I swear in this sacred place, before God, that I did not act deliberately,” he stated.

He extended a formal apology to anyone who may have been hurt by his words or actions, emphasizing that any mistake was unintentional. Butt pleaded for forgiveness—not just from the public but also from Allah and His Messenger—stressing that his remorse is sincere.

Rajab Butt also appealed to Islamic scholars, the Punjab government, and the Pakistan Army to reconsider the case filed against him under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). He argued that a critical charge under Section 295 was misinterpreted due to the removal of the word “false” in the editing of his vlog, leading to a distorted understanding of his intent.

Concluding his video message, Butt once again sought forgiveness from Allah, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the Muslim Ummah, asking for understanding and justice.
