Popular YouTuber Rajab Butt was injured on Monday after he was attacked by a group of lawyers inside the Karachi City Court premises, triggering outrage and renewed concerns over security within court buildings.
According to initial reports, Rajab Butt had arrived at the city court to seek interim bail in a case registered against him. As he entered the premises, a group of lawyers allegedly confronted him, and the situation quickly turned violent.
Eyewitnesses said Rajab Butt was physically assaulted during the incident and suffered injuries to his jaw and mouth, resulting in visible bleeding. The attack caused panic inside the court, prompting court officials and police personnel to intervene.
Security staff managed to disperse the attackers after a tense situation developed within the court premises. Rajab Butt was later provided medical assistance.
Despite the incident, the court extended Rajab Butt’s interim bail until January 13.
The attack has raised serious questions about safety arrangements in court buildings, with calls for stronger security measures to protect litigants and visitors.
