Zimbabwe booked their spot in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after a dominant seven-wicket victory against Kenya in the Africa Region Final semi-final at Harare Sports Club on Thursday.

Batting first after winning the toss, Kenya managed 122/6 in 20 overs, with Rakep Patel standing out with a resilient 65 off 47 balls. Blessing Muzarabani spearheaded Zimbabwe’s bowling attack, finishing with figures of 2/19.

In reply, Zimbabwe chased down the target of 123 in just 15 overs. Brian Bennett smashed 51 from 25 balls to claim the Player of the Match award, while Tadiwanashe Marumani added 39. Ryan Burl guided the hosts home with an unbeaten 16 as Zimbabwe sealed the win with 30 deliveries to spare.

The result not only showcased Zimbabwe’s firepower with the bat but also their disciplined bowling, ensuring their return to the global stage in 2026.
