162 Substitute Plots Given to Sector E-12’s Affectees by CDA
According to news reports, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) performed the first e-ballot in 32 years on Wednesday (December 28) in Islamabad in order to distribute plots to 162 villages affected by Sector E-12. There are plans for a total of 1,200 residents to get plots in multiple phases, with the second ballot set for January 30, 2022.

In the presence of The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on CDA Affairs, Mr. Ali Nawaz Awan, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) hosted an e-ballot event to ensure transparency. He added that the procedure had commenced and that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had formed a commission to resolve the issue. Before developing a solution and alternative land for the villages, the commission met with several parties. Mr. Awan stated that once the plots are turned over, development activity will commence in the sector, and 4,000 file holders will gain control of their plots.

Notably, Sector E-12 was established in 1989, however, CDA encountered difficulties acquiring property for adequate development due to compensation disputes with local residents. In addition to Sector E-12, the government has revealed plans for Sector I-12.
