199 Development Projects Underway in South Balochistan
Islamabad: According to news reports, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar revealed that 199 development projects worth a combined PKR 601 billion are currently under construction in South Balochistan.
In his remarks at the “National Workshop on Balochistan,” Federal Minister Umar emphasized Pakistan’s future development plans and welcomed the sharing of viewpoints from the perspective of Balochistan. Several Balochistan lawmakers and notables attended the event.
Federal Minister Umar revealed specifics on the development plan for Southern Balochistan, saying that it emphasizes job possibilities, digital connectivity, and amenities for health and education. He continued by saying that the creation of a digital Balochistan would result in job prospects for the area.

The minister said that the federal government had allocated all available funds to ensure the province’s rapid development and parity with other provinces. A special development package for underdeveloped areas, including Gilgit-Baltistan, South Balochistan, and 14 priority districts, was unveiled in keeping with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision.
Khalid Mansoor, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), also gave a presentation to the delegates on the CPEC initiative’s projects. He further stated that significant efforts were being made to improve the area. The development of Balochistan will open up opportunities for regional connectivity, according to the PM’s adviser.
