25 Eco-Friendly Carts Given to Street Merchants Under Ehsaas Program
Islamabad: As part of its Ehsaas program, the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division (PASSD), in partnership with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), and ICT administration, has introduced a new welfare initiative that will provide 25 new, environmentally friendly carts to low-income owners of hand-pushed carts.

The action is intended to facilitate the ability of street vendors to make an honorable life. Vendors in G-11 have currently been given carts, but the concept will eventually be expanded across the entire city.
The Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division (PASSD), Capital Development Authority (CDA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), ICT Administration, and Pakistan Institute of Development Economics collaborated to create the model vending programme (Pide).

Street sellers are working with several government stakeholders on Ehsaas Rehribaan, the first project of its kind in the nation, to effectively boost the local economy.
At G-11 Markaz, there are 85 total street vendors, according to survey results. Later this year, the positioning of the remaining 60 street vendors in G-11 with upgraded carts will be scaled up.
