3 Universities to Be Established in South Punjab
Bahawalpur: Three new institutions will be established in Southern Punjab, according to news reports. Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfraz, the pro-Chancellor and minister for higher education in Punjab, broke the news on Wednesday. They were addressing the Senate of Islamia University Bahawalpur at its 16th meeting (IUB).

Additionally present at the meeting was IUB Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Athar Mehbooband Pro-C Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar. The minister announced to the group that the universities in Taunsa, Layyah, and Rajanpur will be opening soon. Furthermore, one of the government’s key focuses is to enhance education in Southern Punjab.
The minister applauded IUB for accepting thousands of students, establishing 29 student councils, and for carrying out development projects worth Rs. 10 billion.

The minister acknowledged in his remarks that the incredible progress would help the IUB advance and become recognized as an international university. The vice chancellor of the IUB said that the university’s satellite campuses at Liquatpur and Ahmedpur East would soon be established.
