$603m Sanctioned from ABD to Support Pakistan Ehsaas Program
The development bank has approved a 600 million dollar loan and a 3 million dollar grant from the Asian Development Fund for Lahore. Additionally, the administration received a donation of 24 million dollars from the Education Above All Foundation.
The Asian Development Bank (ABD) has approved a six-million-dollar grant to enhance Pakistan’s social protection programs. They employed conditional cash transfers to support programs such as Ehsaas implementation. ADB announced on Wednesday that the funding will be utilized towards Pakistan’s national policy for social protection and poverty reduction.
According to the announcement, ABD would give a regular loan of $600 million and an Asian Development Fund grant of $3 million. The monies released will be utilized to administer a $24 million grant from the Education Above All Foundation for the Integrated Social Protection Development Program.

Additionally, he emphasized that the ADB’s support is shifting from unconditional cash transfers that give income support to a mixed-modality approach. The strategy will emphasize conditional cash transfers for education, health services, and food supplies. Human capital development will help minimize intergenerational poverty as a result of this effort.
Dr. Sania Nishtar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation, remarked on the ADB’s decision, stating that ADB is a trustworthy partner.
Dr. Nishat references the bank, This campaign will encourage parents to enroll their children in school, especially girls. It will also assist in providing specialized, nutrient-rich meals and conditional cash transfers to children and mothers in the most deprived districts of Pakistan.
