740-Acres of Land Acquired for Transport Hubs Along Ring Road
According to a news report, the district administration aims to construct two transportation hubs outside of the city, according to Muhammad Rashid Ali, Secretary of the District Regional Transport Authority (DRTA).

Details indicate that 740 acres of land will be purchased for both ports for the aforementioned reason. For the aim of constructing the bus/truck terminal at the First Interchange of the Ring Road close to Rawat, the district government would purchase 340 acres of land.
Contrarily, 400 acres are redirected for the bus/truck terminal at the Sixth Interchange of the Ring Road, which is close to the New Islamabad International Airport.
According to Mr. Ali, only urban transportation would be permitted in the city districts after the Rawalpindi Ring Road was completed and heavy traffic would be prohibited from entering. For the purpose of parking urban transportation, two depots—Waran Bus Stand near Saddar and Chur Bus Stand—will be constructed.

Additionally, he stated that the Rawalpindi Ring Road project was essential for addressing the city’s traffic issues and pollution control, and he added that a Vehicle Inspection Certification System (VICS) would be built close to Chur and would be operational in 15 days.
A two-year time limit has been set by Captain (R) Muhammad Mehmood, the commissioner of the Rawalpindi Division, for bus and truck operators to leave the city.
