86,323 Housing Units worth Rs 463 Billion Being Built, PM Told
Prime Minister Imran Khan was informed that the Ministry of Housing and Works was constructing 86,323 housing units at a total cost of Rs463 billion, and that more than 200,000 jobs are being created swiftly in construction activities across the country as a result of its different programs.

In this context, Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee for Housing, Construction, and Development, which was also informed that approximately Rs 2,314 billion in economic activity will be generated.
The premier was briefed on the Lahore cadastral mapping effort that is now underway. The project is on schedule and will be completed by November 15, 2021, he was assured.

The prime minister instructed the relevant authorities to expedite the digitalization of Lahore’s land records in order to protect the common man from land grabbing gangs and encroachments. In addition, he was updated on the status of several housing projects administered by the Ministry of Housing and Works.
The prime minister reaffirmed that government policy prioritizes vertical housing in the form of tall structures. Digital zed cadastral mapping would help ensure the efficient use of urban land, he added, adding that it will meet the housing needs of a rapidly rising population.
