Afghanistan, FBR to Negotiate Double Taxation Agreement
Islamabad: According to the sources, a four-member delegation from the Afghanistan Revenue Department (ARD) is now visiting the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for another round of negotiations over the parameters of the Double Taxation Agreement (DTA) between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

From the 28th to the 30th of December 2021, substantial negotiations will take place at the FBR Islamabad headquarters.
Mr. Esmatullah Salimi, the Director of Revenue Audit, leads the Afghanistan delegation. Mr. Abdul Wali Noori (Technical Deputy Director-General), Mr. Nida Mohammad Seddiqi (Legal Services Director), and Mr. Najeebullah Ahmadzai are also members of the delegation (Advisor to Ministry of Finance).
The first round of DTA discussions between the two countries was concluded with success in March 2016.

It is anticipated that the second round of negotiations will be conducted with mutual respect and camaraderie.
Pakistan and Afghanistan’s proposed DTA will strengthen their current economic and commercial connections. It will also contribute significantly to the revenue creation of both countries. The Pakistani delegation will be led by Mr. Qaiser Iqbal, Director General of the FBR.
