Agriculture Sector Allocation Enhanced to Rs 15.3 Billion
Karachi: The Sindh government has suggested increasing the entire budget allocation for agriculture from Rs14.8 billion in the current fiscal year to Rs15.26 billion in the following fiscal year.

In the Annual Development Plan (ADP) for fiscal year 2020-21, the provincial government budgeted Rs 2.28 billion for agriculture, while for FY22, Rs 5 billion has been set aside, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah when presenting the Sindh budget.
The chief minister stated that 52 projects would be finished by June 2021 within the current fiscal year.
Seven of these programmes relate to the lining of water channels, the smooth supply of irrigation water to tail-enders, and the upgrading of the province’s irrigation and drainage system.

Agriculture Republic Co-Founder Aamer Hayat Bhandara stated that bio-fertilizers and pesticides are urgently required and emphasised the importance of limiting the pricing of chemical fertilisers and pesticides in order to reduce the production costs for the average farmer.
