Agriculture Sector’s Development Top Priority
Islamabad: While chairing a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee (NCC), Prime Minister Imran Khan declared agriculture one of the country’s top priority sectors, according to news sources.

He further said that only the sector is responsible for the country’s economic development and the future prosperity of local farmers.
Prime Minister Khan has told relevant authorities to formulate a special strategy to revitalize the agricultural sector to ensure the provision of facilities for farmers, with particular focus on wheat, corn, rice and sugar cane crops. instructed to do so.

He added that the current government is working to develop the sector as a top priority and that the NCC on Agriculture should be effectively used for agricultural development. He also called for continued monitoring of developments and in-depth consultation to make the sector as profitable as possible. The NCC meeting included special assistants to the Prime Minister Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and Dr. Shehbaz Gill, Economic Advisory Board member Abid Qayyum Sulehri, State Bank Governor Dr. Reza Baqirz, and other senior government officials.
The conference detailed the implementation of a coordinated strategy and short- to long-term roadmap for the development of the agricultural sector.
