ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has reviewed the progress of several major development projects and directed relevant authorities to address delays while maintaining quality standards.
The review meeting focused on key infrastructure and public development schemes, including Kachhi Canal Phase-II, the 35-kilometre Loralai-Zhob Road, and the Allama Iqbal Memorial and Iqbal Library project.
During the discussion on Kachhi Canal Phase-II, the minister instructed officials to ensure that construction work meets the required quality standards. He also directed authorities to consult the Government of Balochistan on available options for advancing the project.
Progress on the Loralai-Zhob road project was also examined. The minister called for measures to address implementation issues and ensure that the 35-kilometre road is completed within the required timeframe.
The meeting also reviewed the Allama Iqbal Memorial and Iqbal Library project. Ahsan Iqbal directed officials to develop the library in line with international standards and avoid further delays in initiating the project.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) was instructed to move the relevant project summary within three days to speed up the administrative process.
The minister further directed concerned departments to accelerate work on ongoing development schemes and ensure timely implementation of government directives. The review reflects the federal government’s emphasis on improving project execution while maintaining construction quality and accountability.
