Alignment of Margalla Road’s Main Portion Finalized
Islamabad: As residents of Bhara Kahu, Murree, and Kashmir eagerly await the start of the long-awaited project, the alignment of the major section of Margalla Road from the edge of Constitution Avenue to the Satra Meel area has been decided.

According to a board member of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the Engineer-in-Chief (E-in-C) Branch of the Army has completed the alignment of the aforementioned section of road. Soon after the Eid vacations, the suggested alignment will be presented to the CDA chairman and other members for approval.
In order to relieve the increasing traffic congestion in the Bhara Kahu area, the aforementioned proposed road segment will also function as a Bhara Kahu bypass road.

Although it is a part of Islamabad’s master plan, the development of the nearly 35 km long Margalla Road received no attention in the past. According to CDA authorities, this project’s implementation was broken up into three phases by the civic organisation.
The CDA member stated that the civic organisation will start construction at the end of August and will make every effort to finish it before the deadline.
