All Applicants for Hajj Will Able to Perform Pilgrimage This Year

The federal cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) met today, and under Ishaq Dar’s leadership, 163 million dollars were allotted for this year’s Hajj preparations.

According to the government, all 72,869 candidates will perform Hajj this year without casting a vote. This Thursday, without holding a vote, the federal government decided to accept all applications and send all 72,869 applicants to the Hajj.

The cabinet reached its decision after consulting the Ministry of Religious Affairs and following the Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif.

The federal government has decided to accept all applications and send all 72,869 applicants on Hajj without performing a ballot, the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced during the cabinet meeting.

Ishaq Dar went on to say that the Religious Ministry will require more monies, including foreign currency, to transport more Hajj pilgrims than the predetermined quota permitted under the typical arrangement.

Priority will be given to individuals who have never performed the pilgrimage before, according to the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. A new pilgrim is welcome to go with a major applicant as long as they indicate this in their application.

The announcement was made while the ministry was responding to a Twitter enquiry from a man who wanted to know why his Hajj application had been denied. The applicant had made the journey sixteen years earlier.

Additionally, the ministry stated on Sunday that once the Hajj costs have been paid, companions cannot be added. If a person does not have a specific pilgrimage visa or is not a resident of Saudi Arabia, they are not permitted to travel to conduct the Hajj.
