All Kilns in Punjab Moved to Zig-Zag Technology
Malik Amin Aslam, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change, announced that all brick kilns in Punjab have been converted to zig-zag technology in an effort to reduce the dangerous provincial air pollution, which was attributed to a significant portion of the choking air pollution (smog).

According to Mr. Aslam, 7,896 conventional brick kilns in Punjab that used fossil fuels to contribute to smog have been converted to use environmentally responsible zig-zag technology, which reduces carbon emissions by 60% and reduces electricity consumption by 30%.
The moving of the kilns was completed in a fairly quick six-month time frame.
Additionally, the special assistant emphasized that the aforementioned achievement was one of the major milestones the provincial administration had reached in its fight against air pollution in Punjab. He exhorted other provinces to adopt the same strategy and combat environmental deterioration in order to safeguard public health.

According to Mr. Aslam, there are roughly 20,000 kilns across the country that burn materials like coal, rubber, and shoe soles and generate deadly black carbon gasses.
