All KP Districts to Have Land-use Planning & Management Committee
According to published reports, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has planned to establish District Land-Use Planning and Management Committees in all districts to facilitate, coordinate, and supervise the conduct of surveys for master and strategic planning, land use, and their zoning.
According to reports, the convener may designate any co-opted member with expertise in environment, transportation, architecture, heritage, structural engineering, urban planning, or a similar discipline.
The chosen co-opted member will perform volunteer work. Monthly meetings will be held, and two-thirds of the membership will be required to constitute a quorum. The committee will be constituted in accordance with the KP Land-Use and Building Control Act of 2021.
In addition, the committee will collaborate with the concerned local government to develop and implement the district land-use plan or master plan, in addition to submitting suggestions to the province Land-Use and Building Control Authority and requesting approval in every case.

In addition, the committee will undertake a monthly evaluation of NOCs issued by the relevant agencies and may take action to reverse a breach involving the construction or demolition of a structure.
According to the specifics, the committee would conduct an infrastructure and land use survey of the districts. Following the results, the areas will be classified as industrial, commercial, residential, rangeland, national forest, mining area, recreational area, barren & vacant land, water bodies, agricultural land, natural hazard prone area, mixed land-use area, and other land types.
