App, Website Launched to Keep Check on CPEC: SUPARCO
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission has established a website and a mobile application to monitor the development of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) (SUPARCO). On January 14, sources disclosed that this proposal was created in collaboration with the Planning Commission.

According to reports, both Asad Umar (Minister of Planning and Development) and Major General Amer Nadeem (Chairman of SUPARCO) were present during the launch of this website and app. Asad Umar claimed that such technical advancements would have a significant impact on the nation since they may assist in identifying and resolving developmental issues. According to insiders, this application will enable authorities in monitoring not only CPEC but also other projects through the use of current, high-resolution images.

While describing how this application operates, authorities disclosed that it collects its photos and current data from the Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite-1 (PRSS-1). China launched this satellite into space on July 9, 2018. This satellite is the first sun-synchronous spacecraft created by Pakistani engineers in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
