As the hosts defeated Pakistan by 13 runs in the second Twenty20 International on Saturday to secure the three-match series 2-0, Australia seamer Spencer Johnson grabbed his maiden five-wicket haul in international cricket.

With a career-best effort from Spencer Johnson, Australia defeated Pakistan to win the T20 series in Sydney. Johnson’s five-wicket haul destroyed Pakistan’s batting order, which gave the home team a 13-run victory and a 2-0 series lead. 

Although Australia batted first, they only managed a meager 147 after struggling against the disciplined bowling of Abbas Afridi and Haris Rauf. Pakistan’s chase got off to a rough start as early wickets fell quickly. However, Usman Khan responded with a resolute half-century, while Irfan Khan’s late hitting boosted optimism. Pakistan failed despite their best efforts, being bowled out for 134. 

The highlight was Johnson’s outstanding bowling, which earned him Player of the Match and his first five-wicket haul in T20 internationals. With the victory, Australia showed off their formidable bowling unit and determination in defending a low score. 

With Australia aiming for a clean sweep and Pakistan seeking redemption, the series’ final game will be played in Hobart. Australia’s supremacy and Pakistan’s need for increased consistency are evident in this series win.
