Authority Formed to Prevent Land Encroachment in Islamabad
According to news sources, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration have formed a combined anti-encroachment committee in Islamabad to combat land encroachment in the federal capital city.
Within the bounds of the capital, the committee will be responsible for finding encroachment, removing it, and levying fines for illegal land usage. In other news, the government of Punjab has vowed to gather and digitize all police-owned land in the province.
In this regard, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Rao Sardar Ali Khan has asked all competent authorities in all divisions and districts to collect detailed information regarding police-controlled land, including measurements, location, and current use, and upload it to a digital platform.

In addition to a copy of the Fard, the police would be required to give a reference letter from the Board of Revenue (BOR) regarding the transfer of land or any other form of acquisition. In this context, officials have been instructed to verify land ownership records.
