Balochistan Cabinet Favors Insurance Plan for 1.8Mn Families
Quetta: According to a news source, the Baluchistan cabinet approved a health insurance programme on Thursday for the province’s 1.8 million families. Each family member will be eligible for treatment up to PKR 1 million under this scheme at both public and private facilities.

The Global Partnership Education Baluchistan Project’s 1,493 male and female teachers’ contracts were also extended by the government. Also, a committee was formed to develop a strategy and provide a report to the chief minister about the regularization of teachers’ services.
The cabinet also boosted funding for the digitalization of land records management information in four districts—Quetta, Pishin, Jaffrabad, and Gwadar—from PKR 50 million to PKR 200 million during the meeting. Better evaluation and transparency of land records will result from this action.

The meeting ultimately determined to comply with all standards for Jhalawan, Loralai, and Turbat Medical Colleges’ approval by the Pakistan Medical Commission.
Also, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Baluchistan Health Department and the Indus Hospital for the construction of a pediatric cancer unit in Quetta was approved.
