IMF Releases Third Portion of The $6 Billion Loan
According to press reports, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) cleared four evaluations that were waiting regarding Pakistan’s economic situation and disbursed the third installment of the loan.

According to a news source, the third tranche, which is worth roughly $500 million, was only released after Pakistan took a number of strict precautions.
The IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF), which totals USD 6 billion and was previously on hold, is reactivated with the delivery of the third portion. The price of electricity was raised, taxes were imposed, and the central bank was given more power as part of the decisions made to qualify for the release.
According to sources, the IMF Executive Board approved the deal to transfer the funds during a meeting between the Pakistani government and IMF representatives last month.
The first tranche of the EFF, worth USD 991 million, and the second, totaling USD 452.4 million, have already been released by the IMF.
