The Balochistan Communication and Works (C&W) Department has directed officials to accelerate work on ongoing road development projects in Balochistan under Phases I and II of the Balochistan Socio-Economic Development Programme.
The directives were issued during a high-level meeting chaired by C&W Secretary Babar Khan, where officials reviewed progress on various development schemes and discussed measures to prevent unnecessary delays.

Senior engineers, project coordinators and district officers from across the province attended the meeting and briefed the department on the status of projects being implemented under both phases of the programme.
Focus on Timely Completion
Babar Khan directed officials to complete the ongoing schemes within the current fiscal year and, where possible, finish projects ahead of their scheduled timelines.
The C&W Secretary expressed concern over delays in some key schemes and instructed project teams to increase construction activity and improve execution. He emphasized that unnecessary delays would not be tolerated and called for greater efficiency in project implementation.
Improved Connectivity for Remote Areas
The timely completion of Balochistan infrastructure projects could help strengthen road connectivity between remote districts and major urban centres. Better road networks can make transportation easier for residents and improve access to healthcare, education, markets and other essential services.
Improved connectivity may also support economic activity by making it easier for people, businesses and goods to move between different parts of the province.

Babar Khan stressed that communities in remote areas should benefit from development projects without avoidable delays. The department also reiterated its focus on transparency, efficiency and construction quality.
The accelerated execution of road projects in Balochistan is expected to contribute to better regional connectivity while supporting broader socio-economic development across the province.
