Body Set Up to Improve Aviation Industry, Enhance Tourism
Rawalpindi: The Aircraft Owners and Operators Association (AOOA) has been founded for the first time in Pakistan with the aim of developing and reforming the aviation industry to promote tourism in the country.
Imran Aslam Khan, the founder of the AOOA, told Dawn that the organization would collaborate with the relevant authorities to grow the aviation business and promote tourism through the aviation industry.
Since 1932, he stated, these groups have collaborated with regulatory authorities in a variety of nations to advance the aviation business. As there are 208,00 general aviation aircraft in the United States, general aviation is robust, whereas in Pakistan there are just 80.

Soon, associate membership will also be available for aircraft engineers and pilots, allowing the whole aviation community to be represented on a single platform.
As the country’s aviation industry is relatively small, airlines will also be invited to join the organization. A unified development platform for this industry will have multiple effects.
Captain Aijaz Ahmed of Lahore was chosen president of the AOOA, while Captain Asim Nawaz (LLM) of Karachi was elected general secretary.
