Businessmen Demand Automation of Tax System
The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has urged the government to fully automate the taxes system in order to minimise human interactions, which were the main contributor to corruption in the tax system.

In order to expand the number of taxpayers, the government must enhance the taxation system, according to ICCI President Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, rather than burdening the current taxpayers even more. In his office, he was speaking to a group of businesspeople.
Members of the ICCI recalled that they had repeatedly advocated for the implementation of a fixed tax policy coupled with a self-assessment programme, claiming that this was the only way to reduce the trust deficit.

The ICCI president emphasised that FBR should assist taxpayers by establishing special counters for the business community at airports, NADRA, CDA, RDA, and significant government departments to give them priority and preferential treatment. The business community will feel honoured that they are being treated with respect and that their contribution to the economy is recognised as a result of this.
The ICCI had recommended that the government create special cards like gold, silver, and platinum for different strata of taxpayers in its budget plans for the current fiscal year (FY22) in order to treat them with respect and in a manner comparable to that of federal ministers.
