Cabinet to Approve National Cyber Security Policy 2021 Tomorrow
The first “National Cyber Security Policy 2021” is probably going to get approval from the federal cabinet. Syed Amin Ul Haque, the federal minister for information technology and telecommunication, informed the appropriate officials that two topics from the Ministry would be discussed at the upcoming Cabinet meeting.

The draught of the National Cyber Security Policy 2021 was produced by the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications.
According to the policy framework, Pakistan’s entire cyberspace, including all information and communication technologies utilised in both the public and private sectors, will be secured.
- Establishing a governance and institutional structure for a secure cyber ecosystem is the goal of the policy.
- Establish mechanisms for information exchange and protection (CERTs/SOCs) at all levels that are able to track, identify, and respond to threats to national ICT/CII infrastructures.
- Safeguard the design of the National Critical Information Infrastructure by requiring national security standards and procedures.
- Information system acquisition, development, implementation, and use
- Boost the infrastructure and information systems security of the government.
- Provide a framework for information assurance compliance and audits for all entities in the public and private sectors.
- Establish a system of accreditation, testing, screening, and forensics to ensure the integrity of ICT systems, products, and services.
- By technological and operational collaboration, create public-private partnerships and collaborative mechanisms.
- Through public outreach and educational initiatives, foster a culture of cyber security awareness across the nation.
- By utilising programmes for skill development, capacity building, and training, you may establish and develop skilled cyber security personnel.

An agency of the federal government with jurisdiction over cyber security shall create an implementation framework to carry out the objectives. Also, this agency will serve as the federal government’s main coordinating and implementation hub for all things relating to cyber security.
