Canada to Enhance Trade Economic Relations with Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, February 02, 2023- Canadian High Commissioner Leslie Scanlon stated that Canada seeks to elevate trade and economic connections in all sectors of Pakistan in order to realize the full potential of bilateral commerce.
According to a handout distributed by the Press Information Department, the Canadian envoy met with Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, at the Ministry of Economic Affairs (PID). The minister emphasized the long-standing bilateral connections between Pakistan and Canada and informed that Canada is home to a diverse Pakistani community, which is positive for both nations.
He also acknowledged the Canadian government’s help and thanked the Canadian High Commissioner for standing with Pakistan in this time of need. While discussing the overall trade volume between the two nations, the minister stated that there is a great deal of untapped potential for further enhancing and consolidating the connections.
The Canadian High Commissioner disclosed that Canada has participated in numerous bilateral and multilateral projects in Pakistan. Both parties underlined their resolve to continue working to strengthen bilateral relations.
