CDA Begins Work on Plastic Road Concept
The management of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad has begun work on the plastic road concept, which aims to recycle plastic debris and aid in road development.
CDA estimates that 500 to 600 tonnes of municipal waste are collected every day in Islamabad, including 150 to 180 tonnes of plastic waste. Environmental pollution can be reduced by recycling collected plastics.
In accordance with the chairman’s directives, a pilot project has been initiated in F-9 Park, according to a news release from the authority.

It is the first project of its sort to be established in Pakistan in partnership with a private enterprise. In accordance with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by CDA and a private beverage company a month ago, work has now begun on a pilot project, according to a press statement.
The press statement noted that if the project’s results are favorable, the concept will be implemented on the highways of Islamabad.
