ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has withdrawn permission for a temporary site used by the management of Centaurus Mall and directed the management to vacate the land within seven days of receiving the notice.
The CDA issued the notice on September 11, 2026, concerning an approximately eight-kanal site near Plot No. 1 in Islamabad’s Blue Area. The land had been permitted for temporary site and marketing offices associated with the plot.
CDA Cites Unauthorized Use of Temporary Site
According to the authority, an inspection of the site found several facilities and materials that were not covered by the original permission. These included container-based accommodation for workers, toilets, a temporary mosque, badminton courts and construction materials.
The CDA stated that no marketing offices were found during the inspection and said the observed use of the site was inconsistent with the conditions under which the temporary permission had been granted.
The authority also noted that the two-year permission period had expired and had not been renewed. As a result, the CDA withdrew the permission with immediate effect.
Management Directed to Clear Land
Along with vacating the site, the management has been directed to settle outstanding dues amounting to Rs. 48.45 million.
The CDA warned that if the land is not vacated within the specified seven-day period, the authority may undertake clearance of the site at the management’s risk and expense.
The action relates specifically to the temporary site near Plot No. 1 and does not constitute an order concerning Centaurus Mall as a whole. The notice is focused on the use and continued occupation of the separately allocated temporary site.
