CDA Claims 2MGD Share in Rawal Dam After 30 Years
Islamabad: According to a news source, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed has decided to reclaim the share of two million gallons of water per day from the Rawal Dam after a 30-year absence.

The federal capital’s citizens are currently receiving 60 million galls per day (MGD) of water from the CDA, according to CDA spokesperson Asif Ali. 24.5MGD is provided by the tube wells, while another 24MGD is obtained from the Simly water reservoir.
Three waterworks at Shahdara, Nurpur, and Saidpur as well as the Khanpur Dam provide 8.5 and 2 MGD, respectively. The construction of Rawal Dam will add an additional 2MGD and help the government supply water to the people living in sectors G-7/4, I-8, and I-9 to G-9.
The representative also stated that the treatment facility in “Park Area,” close to the sports complex, which had been inoperable for 30 years, was now up and running. Also, a new power generator was put in to make sure that no water is lost due to a power outage.
Finally, the CDA chairman instructed staff to pursue “Wetlands projects” more vigorously since they will help clean up tainted water and help replenish the subsoil water. In order to optimise the production of captured rainwater, the “Rainwater Harvesting” project was also given attention.
