CDA Declares 58 Brick Kilns Illegal in Islamabad
According to news reports, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) deemed illegal 58 brick kilns in Sectors H-16 and H-17 in Islamabad.

In accordance with the Regulations 1962 (Restriction on Brick Kilns) and Industrial Regulation Ordinance, CDA Director of Land Afnan Alam made the decision to prohibit brick kilns in residential zones.
The kiln ban was implemented when the Enforcement Directorate questioned the mushroom growth of kilns in the H-16 and H-17 zones. Afterwards, revenue officers conducted inspections and surveys. Under the direction of the Islamabad High Court, a petition hearing was given to the owners of the brick kilns (IHC).

The most recent ruling is the outcome of a hearing in which the complainant and CDA officials stated that the in question kilns are illegal and must be destroyed.
It is essential to remember that CDA purchased Sectors H-16 and H-17 in 2008, but does not fully own the land because the dues have not been paid off in order to commence construction.
