CDA Empowered to Implement Bylaws in E-11
Islamabad: The federal cabinet authorized the municipal agency to manage unplanned construction in E-11 by enforcing its rules.

In a brief requesting cabinet approval for executing its regulations in E-11, the CDA also demanded the annulment of a 1968 order by then-president Ayub Khan exempting the Golra income estate from land acquisition.
Three housing societies out of five, including Medical Cooperative Housing Society, which recently experienced urban floods, are operating without no-objection certifications (NOCs).
In 2007-2008, the CDA created ordinances for high-rise constructions in E-11, although they were not followed to the letter.

After getting the cabinet meeting minutes, CDA officials stated they would be in a better position to explain their E-11 strategy. They stated, however, that all regulations will be enforced.
The summary of the CDA provided to the cabinet stated, “Plots developed along nullah banks by trespassing on the right of way in housing plans would be dislocated on the risk and cost of society administration.”
