CDA Optimistic About Launching Bhara Kahu Road Project Next Month
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is optimistic that the final segment of Margalla Road, also known as the Bhara Kahu bypass, will begin construction next month.

He added that a meeting has been arranged to discuss this project and that the CDA intends to begin building at Satra Meel.
The engineering-in-chief section of the army, employed by the CDA to finalize the road’s layout, concluded the project last month.
Nonetheless, the CDA administration requested that the E&C division revise the path in order to prevent land acquisition and built-up property issues, stressing that the entire road should traverse state land.
According to the sources, the E&C has finalized the amended alignment of 7.8 kilometers, which will begin near the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) building and finish short of Satra Meel after crossing state territory.

The CDA administration altered the course in order to avoid property acquisition, as the original alignment included a piece of privately owned land.
Citizens stated that the project should be initiated as soon as possible to be completed while the PTI government, which is the project’s initiator; otherwise if another party forms a government after the 2023 general elections, it may not prioritize the project.
