LDA to Enquire Failure to Get Jurisdiction Ordinance Promulgated
Lahore: The governing body of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has asked the director-general (DG) to investigate the failure of the officers to extend the LDA (amendment) ordinance of 2021 (XVIII) promulgated on April 13, 2021, amending the LDA act, 1975 (XXX of 1975), under which the authority’s jurisdiction was reverted to the Lahore metropolitan area, as defined in section 9 (1) (b) of the Punjab

The decision was made during a meeting where the issue of LDA’s jurisdiction over the master planning of the entire Lahore division or the metropolitan areas alone was discussed, according to the relevant official.
According to the minutes of the meeting conducted on August 17 to discuss compliance with the decisions made by the LDA governing body at its sixth meeting of the year, participants discussed the master planning of the Lahore division.

The authority formed a committee composed of the secretaries of the housing, local government, and law departments, as well as the LDA director general, to investigate the situation and make its recommendations as quickly as possible.
Due to different legal, technological, and administrative obstacles, however, it was impossible to resolve the problems associated with various issues in these districts.
