CDA Seeks WB’s Help to Replace Water Supply Lines
Islamabad: To assist it rebuild the city’s outdated and corroding water delivery network, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has asked the World Bank (WB).

Amer Ali Ahmed, the chairman of the CDA, told Dawn on Thursday that the civic organization had authorized the Economic Affairs Division to approach the World Bank for funding to repair an outdated water supply network.
In November of last year, the PC-1, worth Rs 166.419 million, was approved for the installation of flow meters.

In addition to keeping track of data about water flow, it was claimed that the meters would aid in reducing water theft. According to officials, 130 meters will be installed.
Connecting road and flyover construction projects are ongoing.
They said that the civic organization would carry out the Ghazi Barotha project as a long-term fix to deliver 100 million gallons of water per day to each of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. They said that the project is now in the feasibility study stage and that the civic agency will look into funding sources after it is finished.
