Realignment of Rawalpindi Ring Road Project Initiates
After conducting an investigation into the alleged alteration of the original alignment of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR), the Punjab government has restarted the process of re-aligning the ring road, according to a report in national newspapers. family today.

It is known that with the changes to the route of the road, the cost of the project has increased by 25 billion PKR. During the investigations, it was also emphasized that the changes to the revised route had unduly benefited some housing projects.
The latest development in this matter is that at the behest of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the matter has been referred to the National Accountability Office and the Punjab Anti-Corruption Bureau for further investigation.

According to the source, Commissioner Rawalpindi Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah while briefing the Chief Secretary of Punjab via video link revealed that new RRR association work has started. He stressed that the process of reorganizing the project will be free of corruption.
In response to the information shared during this briefing, the Secretary-General asked the Trustees to share alternative project proposals along with cost estimates as soon as possible to ensure that road construction completed within the same budget.

The chief secretary denied any rumors of the project being stopped, adding that the project was of special importance to the people of Rawalpindi and there was no reason to stop it. He ordered the commissioner to prioritize the submission of PC-1 of the RRR project.
