CDA Set to Contract 7th Avenue Interchange, I.J.P. Road Projects
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) board is about to sanction the municipal agency to have Frontier Works Organization complete two projects: construction of 7th Avenue Interchange and repair of I.J.P. Road (FWO).

The relevant officials have been informed by sources that the board will approve CDA’s request to award the contract for the projects during its meeting on Friday.
The CDA plan calls for a cloverleaf-shaped interchange with four left and right loops to be constructed at a cost of Rs1.5 billion. In addition, a tunnel will connect the two sections of Khayaban-i-Soharwardi.
This project has been years behind schedule. It was presented to the CDA’s Development Working Group (DWP) numerous times for approval of the PC-1, but each time objections were raised. In contrast, the PC-1 was accepted in a DWP meeting in October of last year.

According to the reports, no significant road maintenance has been performed for many years, resulting in the development of potholes all over the roadway. Due to the existence of the general bus terminal at Pirwadahi, it is one of the busiest roads in Islamabad and Rawalpindi and is often used.
