CDA to Construct 5km Road in Margalla Hills National Park
Islamabad: The Margalla Hills National Park is currently under consideration for the construction of a new 5-kilometer road, a proposal being reviewed by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
According to sources, the proposed road would establish a connection between a popular restaurant and Bari Imam, leading to concerns about potential impacts on the park’s ecosystem.
Before obtaining approval, the plan will undergo scrutiny by the CDA’s Planning and Engineering Wings and will be presented to the Development Working Party (DWP).

It is worth noting that previous developments such as roads, motorways, and housing societies have already posed threats to the environment and had adverse effects on the Margalla Hills National Park.
Moreover, the park has been marred by waste left behind by visitors, posing risks to the well-being of its wildlife.
Officials have clarified that a decision regarding the proposed road will be made only after a comprehensive assessment of the project, explaining why it has not yet received approval.
