CDA Not to Hand Over 10th Avenue Project to Defence Ministry
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has opted to carry out the 10th Avenue project on its own, reversing an earlier decision to give it over to the Ministry of Defense.

Margalla Avenue, I.J.P. Road (extension and overhauling), and 10th Avenue are the three road projects that the CDA board resolved to recommend to the federal cabinet for a decision about their execution by the Ministry of Defence under the engineering procurement construction method last month.
Yet according to sources, the CDA has now opted to carry out the 10th Avenue project independently. The cabinet has been given a synopsis for the other projects so they may make a choice. According to the sources, there is a likelihood that the subject may be discussed in the upcoming cabinet meeting or one that follows.

The CDA board had emphasized at its meeting from last month that these massive projects needed to be carried out quickly.
The master plan for Islamabad specifies that there would be a significant avenue to split the sectors after each one, and 10th Avenue is a component of that plan. Nevertheless, the CDA has only been able to develop 7th, 8th, and 9th Avenues thus far.
